What in the world should we wear?! | Atlanta, Marietta, GA family photographer

Ahh, the eternal question… “What should we wear for our session with you?” Some thoughts about this very popular question!

• Wear clothing that is true to you and dress your family in clothes that are true to them. If your children are uncomfortable in their clothing, that will come through in the images. If your husband hates the sweater you’ve picked out for him to wear (hey, it happens…at least it does in my house!) ;), it will show in the images. Pick clothing that everyone will feel comfortable in.
• When considering the color palate you want to use, look around your home. Do you decorate with bold and bright colors or do you appreciate more calm, soothing colors? Choosing outfits that somewhat mimic your decor will ensure that you will be able to put your images all over your home and enjoy them for years to come.
• Fully dress one member of the family first and then dress everyone else according to that outfit. For example, say you find you a dress that you adore for your little girl. Choose that piece of clothing first and then choose everyone else’s outfits around that piece. This will help you see the overall “look” you are going for without feeling super stressed about finding something for everyone to wear at one time…
• Last but not least, if you have questions about clothing, please don’t hesitate to ask me! I’m more than happy to help however I can and I have even had parents text me photos of clothing they are thinking about wearing just to get my opinion! Really…please ask if you are wondering about anything. I’m here to make this as easy as possible for you!

Below you will find some clothing options based on Pantone’s 2014 color predictions. As you can see, these don’t include outfits for the little ones, but I hope these examples will provide you with a starting point to begin thinking about what would be best for your bunch to wear!
